BlackMagic Design's HyperDeck Studio Mini is a miniaturized broadcast deck that's small enough to go anywhere. For fabulous high quality recordings to SD or UHS-II memory cards in QuickTime or MXF file format, you have the choice of H.264, ProRes or DNx codecs. The HyperDeck Studio Mini has features like 6G-SDI for all formats up to 2160p/30, HDMI for monitoring and dual SD card slots for uninterrupted recording. On top of that, there's a built-in sync generator that lets you daisy-chain and sync multiple VTRs. The dual-link 6G SDI output can be used to output fill-and-key signals. The HyperDeck Studio Mini includes RS-422 deck control, a built-in AC power supply and an Ethernet port with PoE+ as an alternative power source.

Perfect for mastering broadcasts, ISO recording and digital signage.

The BlackMagic Design HyperDeck Studio Mini is perfect as a master program recorder for multi-camera live productions or as a recorder for isolated recording of individual camera feeds, allowing you to edit programs after the fact. The broadcast deck also serves as a powerful clip player for direct live playback, or even as a preview MAC for clients in a conference room equipped with a large-screen HDMI TV.

Because you can synchronize playbacks from multiple devices, it's best suited for high-resolution digital signage consisting of multiple screens. In conjunction with a live production mixer, the separate SDI outputs for fill and key signals can be used to output animated graphics with alpha channel as key in live video - in real time!

Space-saving design

The HyperDeck Studio Mini features dual SD card recorders, professional connectors, Ethernet, a built-in power supply and more - all elegantly miniaturized into a compact 5-inch modular design. Install it in an optional Teranex Mini Rack Shelf along with other modules to create your own custom deck. If you use eg. If you want to use settings from old analogue master tapes, just add a Teranex Mini analogue to SDI and get your old content into modern editing software.

The HyperDeck Studio Mini doesn't just look good in the rack, its sleek design also looks great on the desktop.

Professional connections

The HyperDeck Studio Mini's multi-rate 6G SDI connections let you work with all SD, HD and Ultra HD formats up to 2160p/30. One SDI input and two SDI outputs are provided, allowing you to output fill-and-key signals. The HyperDeck Studio Mini's HDMI port is perfect for connecting large screen TVs, projectors and digital signage. For larger digital signage jobs, there's a reference input and reference signal generator so you can synchronize output with multiple HyperDecks connected in series. You also benefit from RS-422 deck control, Ethernet and internal AC power supply for 110-240 volts. There's even an SDK and easy-to-use Ethernet protocol so you can develop your own custom solutions.

Easy to use, no training required

The HyperDeck Studio Mini is equipped with classic transport controls including a small seek controller for jog and shuttle. Its compact LCD displays timecode and transport information when recording or outputting, as well as a thumbnail preview of the current clip in color. In addition, the video format, frame rate and audio levels appear on this one Display in addition to information on the recording status of the cards. The combination of familiar VTR-style controls and the integrated LCD display allows quick and easy operation.

SD and UHS-II Card Usage

SD cards are widely available, inexpensive and extremely reliable. That's why they are perfect as professional data carriers in the broadcast sector. The icing on the cake: Unlike mechanical hard drives, they offer zero latency and instant playback. The HyperDeck Studio Mini records to both regular SD and high performance UHS-II cards.

Use standard SD cards or, for Ultra HD recording, UHS-II cards. Because SD cards are so small, you can create your own archive of content. In fact, it takes up only a fraction of the space needed for old tapes and discs. Plus, with the latest software update, the HyperDeck Studio Mini can record more than 3 hours of footage in a single file!

Non-stop recording

For non-stop recording, the HyperDeck Studio Mini is equipped with dual SD card slots. When one card is full, recording automatically continues on the next card. So you don't have to worry about missing an important shot. This is ideal for recording extended live events, as the cards are hot-swappable. Simply replace the full card with an empty one while the other card slot continues recording.

Each of the two slots has its own indicator light that changes color depending on its status. So you know instantly which card is in use. Because the SD card slots have separate circuit boards, the HyperDeck Studio Mini is repairable. When the circuit board wears out due to intensive use, it can be easily replaced.

Capture and playback industry-standard ProRes files

The HyperDeck Studio Mini stores video in ProRes files by default. This is one of the most widely used professional video file formats in the world. You get high-quality recordings in 10-bit YUV or 10-bit RGB in all formats up to 2160p/30 on memory cards formatted in ExFAT or HFS+. ProRes files are compatible with software like DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut Pro X. So you can simply plug the memory card into your computer and start editing without any conversion. Even ProRes 4:4:4 is supported - in HD even with image and alpha channels. This is ideal for keying graphics and stinger transitions. Simply play out broadcast graphics as fill-and-key signals to your live production mixer and overlay them on your live video.

Compatible with professional software

The HyperDeck Studio Mini records files that are compatible with just about any post-production software. If you're using a popular editing software such as DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Premiere Pro or Avid Media Composer, you can start editing and color grading immediately without having to convert or recode the files first. Even motion graphics and visual effects artists using software like Fusion and After Effects can work with these files effortlessly!
