Sensational action shots

The Blackmagic Design Micro Cinema Camera's small size makes it perfect for use on quadrocopters, as a crash cam, or as a hidden camera at Set for reality TV shows. It can be mounted almost anywhere, including on skateboards or gliders for extreme sports footage, or on a drone to create bird's-eye panaroma shots. Or mount the camera on a helmet to create amazing POV shots!

When using the camera on quadrocopters, as a crash cam, or in precarious locations, you can remotely control, track live feeds, and monitor - all from a safe distance. The expansion port can be connected to a radio-controlled model aircraft receiver and various camera functions can be assigned to radio channels. This way you can start and stop recordings, adjust focus, make aperture settings and more - all remotely controlled! The expansion port also has an output for composite video that can be connected to inexpensive wireless video transmitters, making it possible to monitor recording status, battery charge status and audio levels remotely.

Groundbreaking expansion port

The revolutionary expansion port provides custom solutions for remote control, external power and monitoring. The included cable whip provides access to the many unique camera features. However, you can also design your own cables to expand the camera to other applications. In addition to connections such as LANC, power, video output, and genlock, you get four analog inputs for PWM radio control. This allows you to add various camera functions to controls such as dials, knobs, buttons and joysticks on model aircraft remotes!

For even more precise control, the 18-channel S.Bus-controlled input is available in conjunction with radio-controlled equipment from Futaba . Alternatively, users can define their own embedded control elements.

Remote Monitoring

The expansion port output for NTSC and PAL-FBAS video allows you to connect inexpensive wireless video transmitters and monitor images remotely. This allows you to keep track of what the camera is recording, whether it is in the air or hidden at Set.

For higher quality monitoring, the Micro Cinema Camera also provides an HDMI output for connecting wireless HD video transmitters. The composite and HDMI output can display various information including camera status, iris settings, file formats, histograms, audio levels, battery life and more!

Super 16mm Sensor

The Blackmagic Micro Cinema Camera's Super 16 sensor in full 1080 HD resolution has an amazing 13 stops of dynamic range. That means you get true digital film quality footage because the sensor captures more information in the light and dark areas of the shot. DSLR and action cameras are limited to video content that cuts off highlights and shadows. The Blackmagic Micro Cinema Camera, on the other hand, gives you brighter highlights without clipping tonal values, and minute details in the shadows. With ISO up to 1600, you'll get the best image quality even in low-light environments.

Expandable Connections

The Micro Cinema Camera has a full HDMI port on the right side, which can be used to add overlays and embedded audio to video monitoring outputs. The expansion port is also located there with a standard DB-HD15 connector. The expansion port can be used with the included cable whip or with your own cable for additional monitoring, operation and power options. On the left side of the camera are SD card slots for recording, as well as a high quality 3.5mm stereo jack for connecting mic/line level devices.

Professional sound

The built-in high-quality stereo microphone is designed for top-quality audio recording and operates omnidirectionally. Its mechanical design helps reduce unwanted wind noise and delivers a clean recording. The built-in 3.5mm input jack allows you to connect directional or wireless clip-on microphones. The 3.5mm input jack supports microphone/line-level devices and automatically disables the internal microphone when an external microphone is connected. With the Micro Cinema Camera, you have the flexibility to choose a microphone or audio source to suit your production.

Interchangeable lenses

The Blackmagic Micro Cinema Camera features an active Micro Four Thirds bayonet for use with high-performance photographic lenses such as wide-angle, fixed focal length, standard zoom, telephoto and others. This way, you are not limited to a built-in lens, but can always choose the best lens for the given job. The focus, iris and zoom of active MFT lenses can be controlled remotely via the camera's expansion port. Many MFT lenses have a built-in image stabilization function, which makes them perfect in locations with a lot of movement, shock and vibration.

Battery or external power supply

For remote recording, you can connect any LP-E6 battery to the camera back and work in all kinds of environments. The battery charge status is displayed either on a Overlay of a connected HDMI display or via the PAL/NTSC video output - so you always have an overview of the battery status even when remotely controlling your camera. An additional LED lamp signals low battery and recording status. The included cable whip has a 12V DC power input jack, allowing you to use external power supplies. You can even use your own long-life power sources!
