With the Dowina Albalonga GACE HyVibe, the Slovak manufacturer from near Bratislava presents a full-massive grand auditorium guitar equipped with the latest technology from HyVibe. The acoustic sound unfolds quickly and over a wide area thanks to hand-filed bracing and a razor-thin matte finish. At the same time, the flat neck and a generous cutaway guarantee optimal access to all 21 frets, which intonate cleanly thanks to high-quality bone hardware. Smooth-running die-cast tuners also guarantee precise tuning of the 6 steel strings. The heart of the instrument is undoubtedly the extensive pickup system, which amplifies the acoustic sound via a sophisticated concept without external devices and enriches it with numerous effects if required. Visually, the acoustic guitar is rounded off by filigree multi-ply bindings.
Since the top is made of cedar, the sound is enriched with a pleasant and warm note. Meanwhile, the mahogany body provides a powerful soundstage with its pronounced bass frequencies, making the instrument especially assertive during powerful strumming. The mahogany neck, equipped with an ebony fingerboard, guarantees extremely comfortable playability in all frets, which can be accessed perfectly even in the high registers thanks to a cutaway. Solid tonewoods with perfect sound characteristics.
The HyVibe pickup system turns the guitar into its own amplifier, so there are no limits to the player's imagination. For example, the sound is picked up directly by means of two actuators positioned in the body and can be individually modified via a preamp in the frame. The system is also equipped with a reverb, chorus, delay, tremolo, octaver, phaser and distortion effect. These can be conveniently adjusted via smartphone using the associated app. In addition, there is the possibility to record short tracks via an integrated looper, to overdub them and to play them back. The necessary power supply is provided by a lithium-ion battery, which is charged by the included power adapter.
With the help of chrome-plated die-cast tuners, the 6 steel strings, which are fixed with ebony pins in the bridge, can be tuned easily and precisely. Furthermore, a compensated bridge inlay and a 45 mm wide bone nut ensure clean intonation over the entire scale length of 650 mm. The fretboard features discreet offset dot inlays made of mother-of-pearl, which serve as orientation for the player. The top is bordered with fine multi-ply inlays that are perfectly matched to the soundhole rosette.
