The solid New Albalonga GACE enjoys warm and voluminous sound characteristics at a very good price-performance ratio. This guitar is also equipped with the Fishman Presys pickup and thus nothing stands in the way of a controlled stage performance. In addition, this preamp has a tuner and a 3-band equalizer that allows you to easily adjust your own sound preferences. Thanks to the built-in cutaway, gripping in the higher positions is also possible without problems, while chrome-plated die-cast mechanisms ensure tuning stability and precise tuning. A compensated bone bridge inlay provides high-resolution resonance transmission and ensures clean intonation and a flat string position.
Dowina New Albalonga GACEI will start with the good:
Great looking guitar, not flashy looking but also not boring. In real life it looks much better than the online photos. The grains of the mahogany on the back and on the neck are way more pronounced than how they appear on the photos.
The neck and the playability is top notch for my preferences.
The sound is brighter than I expected from a cedar top but this is good for me.
The bad:
The abalone dot inlays on most guitar are positioned on the middle of the fretboard but in this guitar are on the top part. This is more stylish but when playing you cannot see the dots so they are kinda useless for me.
Also the dots that are on the top of the neck have a brown-wooden color and they aren't easily visible in low light conditions.
The heel of the neck is constructed by three different pieces of wood and the joints are really visible making the instrument look cheaper than it is. However it doesn't effect anything else than the visual part.
Issues that MAY be specific only for the guitar that I ordered and that makes it a 3(instead of a 5) star rating:
The top of the headstock (which is cut in "soft v" kinda shape) has some black, like burning, marks and the satin finish is really poorly done.
At the listing photos at the back of the guitar is a decorative stripe that is missing from my guitar.
Also the "cap" of the heel of the neck on the photos is brown with an engraved "D", mine is black with no engraving.
On the good side, the tuners on the photos are dowina branded but the ones in my guitar are Grover tuners.
