Product information - ESP LTD M-4 Black Metal

4-string electric bass with stainless steel frets, active EMG 35CS humbucker and Gotoh bridge

With the ESP LTD M-4 Black Metal electric bass, the Japanese company complements the extremely popular Black Metal series with a straightforward bass that has been mercilessly optimized for modern metal in terms of playing characteristics and sound.

Woods and construction

Based on a bolt-on construction with 34" scale length (864 mm), the practical four-string features an alder body in the design of the popular ESP M electric guitars and a bolt-on three-piece maple neck in the agile "Thin U" profile with 40 mm nut width. In addition to 24 extra jumbo frets made of hard stainless steel, the Macassar ebony fingerboard carries fluorescent side dots for secure gripping even on dark stages.

Pickups and Hardware

On the bass amp, the ESP LTD M-4 Black Metal delivers extremely punchy tones with its active EMG 35CS humbucker, which combines powerful ceramic magnets with steel pole pieces, pushing every note richly into the pit of your stomach even when paired with bass distortion and drop tuning. High-quality Hardware in the form of a Gotoh 201B-4 bridge and precise Grover bass machine heads completes the LTD M-4 Black Metal E-Bass from ESP.
