A P-style electric bass with classic construction and modernized feature set, the ESP LTD Surveyor-414QM Maple Dark Brown Sunburst is the perfect 4-string for cultivated sounds of rock and metal.
With its sleek doublecut design of solid swamp ash and chic quilted maple top, the ESP LTD Surveyor-414QM Maple Dark Brown Sunburst gives you that classic playing feel. The slim Thin-U profile of the maple neck promises additional comfort while playing, which gives the sound additional attack with its bolt-on neck construction and 34" long scale.
To give the sound of the ESP LTDor-414QM Maple Dark Brown Sunburst additional emphasis, ESP uses two active pickups from the US manufacturer EMG. In middle position the EMG 35P4 delivers full and juicy tones, while an EMG MMTW MM-style humbucker elicits aggressive but defined sounds from the bridge position. For further sound shaping there is a balance control, a coil split mini switch and a common 3-band equalizer on board.
The hardware setup follows the classic P-style setup and combines reliable functionality with a classic look. For example, the bass is equipped with a Wilkinson Licensed Bass Bridge with tabs for each string and four Open Gear tuners for accurate tuning results. All hardware parts of the ESP LTDor Surveyor-414QM Maple Dark Brown Sunburst have a uniform chrome finish.

The sound and volume adjustment requires a little getting used to and may be a bit of a challenge on stage. Besides that it sounds and feels great. The Wilkinson bridge is OK, but after a few adjustments, the screws may be annoying and harmful to your hand, it you rest it on the bridge => up for replacement with a Allparts Omega bridge, as it is high mass and gives a better sustain.
