With the Epiphone Frontier USA Collection Frontier Burst, the traditional manufacturer Epiphone revives one of its acoustic guitar classics of the 1950s/1960s. With numerous appointments, the detailed square-shoulder dreadnought gives the impression that it is one of the coveted models that were produced in the legendary Kalamazoo factory at the time. The handcrafted guitar combines selected tonewoods and high-quality hardware that are perfectly matched down to the last detail. The instrument features a solid construction, a handmade Scalloped-X bracing, a lovingly designed "Lariat and Cactus" pickguard and an L.R. Baggs VTC pick up system. In addition, a sturdy Epiphone case is included.
Thanks to its extensive square-shoulder construction, the dreadnought guitar produces a very powerful and warm sound that is strong and defined in the bass and midrange frequencies. This makes the Frontier perfect for vocal accompaniment and expressive strumming. A spruce top and a body made of curly maple help here, which in combination with a paper-thin nitrocellulose finish and the flat bracing create an almost attack of the notes. At the same time, the flat mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard and a Round "C" profile promises a comfortable grip across all 20 frets.
To generate a clean intonation on the 648 mm long scale the 43,8 mm wide nut and the compensated saddle are made of bone. Furthermore, gold Gotoh Keystone tuners guarantee precise tuning of the 6 steel strings and accentuate the design. The fingerboard is marked with extensive slotted rectangle inlays of mother-of-pearl, which serve as orientation and create a very harmonious contrast to the rough-grained rosewood. The large pickguard is without a doubt the highlight of this thoroughly successful acoustic guitar, as it is decorated with a fine, multi-colored "Lariat and Cactus" engraving.
