The Fender 1970 Stratocaster Journeyman Relic MN Aged Firemist Red draws inspiration from the 1970 Stratocaster, considered the last of the "classic" Strats before the major changes of the CBS era. This electric guitar combines the historic specifications with a series of custom modifications for optimised handling and increased tonal variety. In terms of construction, the Fender Custom Shop relies on an alder body and a four-piece bolt-on maple neck with a "1969 U" profile and 9.5" fingerboard radius. As for the pickups, hand-wound Fender Custom Shop '69 Strat single-coils provide premium vintage tones, with the RWRP mid-pickup preventing any extraneous noise in the intermediate blade switch positions. The Fender Greasebucket tone circuit is on board as well. Authentic hardware in the form of a vintage synchronised tremolo and Schaller "F" tuners complete the Fender 1970 Stratocaster Journeyman Relic MN Aged Firemist Red.
The FENDER 1970 Stratocaster Journeyman Relic MN Aged Firemist Red features a two-piece body made of lightweight alder, whose contours follow the authentic specifications of the pre-CBS era. Furthermore, the rift-sawn maple neck with standing annual rings is classically connected to the body via four screws and a neck plate, with access to the truss rod from the neck heel. Furthermore, a thin nitrocellulose finish with a light Journeyman relic, conveying the look and feel of a lovingly cared-for vintage original, supports the electric guitar's lively tonal response. The pleasantly strong "1969 U" neck profile and the fingerboard radius of 9.5" (241 mm) ensure authentic vintage playability with smooth bends.

The reverse-wound and polarised RWRP midrange pickup reduces noise in the intermediate positions of the 5-way blade switch. For particularly smooth treble roll-offs, the Fender 1970 Stratocaster is also equipped with the Fender Greasebucket tone circuit, which reduces the proportion of low frequencies by cutting back the treble and thus guarantees a warm tone without mud.

The classic Fender Custom Shop Synchronized Tremolo enriches melodies and chords with shimmering vibratos if desired.
