The Fender American Vintage '65 Stratocaster, Olympic White is a 6-string electric guitar from Fender's American Vintage series.
The American Vintage series, first launched in 1982, has seen Fender reissue some of their favourite and most important models from their history, referenced from original models from those eras.
The Fender American Vintage '65 Stratocaster features an alder body in Fender's legendary double-cutaway Stratocaster body shape. The neck is carved from one piece of maple into a 'C' shaped neck profile, which is a key characteristic of Fender's 1960s electric guitars. The neck is topped by a round laminated rosewood fingerboard, with 21 Vintage-style frets.
In the electronics department, the '65 Stratocaster is equipped with three New American Vintage '65 Grey Bottom Strat single-coil pickups, wound to period-correct specifications, providing a classic Strat sound. The Volume and Tone controls allow for a variety of tones to be found, while the inclusion of a 5-way pickup selector switch, as well as the 3-way switch found on the original 1965 model, provides added versatility and tonal options for the modern Strat player.
Additional appointments include an American Vintage synchronised tremolo bridge, a bone nut and single line 'Fender Deluxe' Vintage style machine heads. The American Vintage '65 Stratocaster is finished in an Olympic White with a New Fender Flash Coat lacquer, and comes complete with a New Deluxe Vintage black case, Vintage '65 Strat strap, cable, and cloth, Vintage 3-position switch, '60s Strat information kit, bridge cover, owner's manual and a saddle height wrench.
