The Focal Shape 50 5" Active Studio Monitor (Single) features a 50Hz-35kHz frequency response (+/- 3dB) with a maximum sound pressure level of 106dB. The Shape 50 is a versatile monitoring loudspeaker that can be used from 30″ away and has a very extended low end frequency response (50Hz) considering its compact design. Made in France, this monitor provides a wide and precise stereo image and remarkable acoustic transparency.
The Shape monitors combine an ingenuous design and numerous settings optimised for the acoustics of small listening rooms. Featuring a 1" tweeter with very low directivity for a flexible listening position, this monitor is designed without a port, but with a double passive radiator, allowing it to be placed near a wall. With numerous settings for optimal integration, this monitor offers accurate control, even in the very high end. A flax sandwich cone produces a controlled and articulated bass, natural and detailed lower mid-range and upper mid-range registers.
Focal Shape 50Upgraded from old event monitors to these and the difference is like night and day. I can hear layers with these things that I never knew were in the mix.
Awesome seperation, beautiful design and practical ultimately a great product the quality of which exceeds the price.
Only thing I've noticed is the energy saving feature which takes some getting used to. You have to turn the volume up a way before they kick back in. But no big deal.
I've bought these for DJing and production at home, and I'm totally blown away by them! The sound quality is outstanding! The highs are crisp, the mids are detailed and the bass is lush, warm and tactile. I'm hearing so much in my records I couldn't hear on my old system.
If you love your music and want to enjoy it as much as possible, these speakers are worth every single penny and highly recommended.
