The ES-335 as a representative of the semi-hollow construction features a classically crafted body with the typical Sharp Horn cutaways of the vintage, which is made of three-ply laminate of maple and poplar wood. The laminate construction, which has been tried and tested since the ES-175, is complemented by a solid center block made of maple, which favors the resonance transmission of the strings into the body and ensures that the ES-335 can be played at high gain settings without any problems. As a special feature of the '64 model, the 1964 ES-335 Sixties Cherry Ultra Light Aged's mahogany neck, glued with a long neck root, features the incomparable Authentic '64 Medium C neck profile and the cellulose nitrate small block inlays that have been used since 1962.
