With the B. Gibson B. King Lucille Semi-Hollow , Gibson the blues icon pays tribute to his famous electric Signature guitar. The legendary semi-resonance guitar without F-holes is based on the ES-355TD-SV with dual 490R/ 490T Humbucker -equipment for warm singing blues licks and has six controllable capacitors for different treble roll-offs of the tone controls thanks to Varitone switches. The Hardware Gold finish of the TP-6 Stopbar with fine tuners and solid Grover mechanics also remains true to this striking model.
For classic '57 sounds the B Gibson .B. King Lucille was equipped with one on 490R Humbucker the neck and one 490T Humbucker in Bridge -position. The two pickups with Alnico II magnets deliver a warm Vintage blues tone of the late sixties with a little more power in the high mids and powerful character in the crunch area. Both pickups react particularly to slight treble roll-offs of the tone potis with a vocal note.
B.B. King's distinctive sound always found the right treble roll-off in his Lucille thanks to various capacitors switchable via a 6-way Varitone switch, which were then conventionally regulated via the tone potentiometers for both pickups. The Gibson Memphis Lucille provides the guitarist with a variety of sounds and sound patterns from muted Woman Tone to transparent Treble sound. Last but not least, the signals of both cartridges can be used separately thanks to separate Stereo outputs.
In addition to the proven Tune-o-Matic bridge, the B.B. King Lucille uses a TP-6 Tailpiece with fine tuners. These have a more precise transmission ratio than the Grover Tulip tuners at the other end of the headstock and allow precise tuning. All Hardware parts of the Lucille are gold-plated.
