Product information - Gibson Elvis Dove

"A Gift for the King, a Gift From the King"

With the Gibson Elvis Dove, the traditional manufacturer from Bozeman in Montana dedicates a very special acoustic guitar in dreadnought format to none other than the "King of Rock and Roll", which is based on the legendary square-shoulder model that Elvis used for his legendary Aloha From Hawaii performance in 1973. The mid-sized instrument produces a warm and authentic sound, so that evergreens like "Heartbreak Hotel", or "Blue Suede Shoes" can be performed faithfully and in style. In addition, the round neck offers the best conditions for easy fingering in all frets. Gold-plated tuners guarantee precise tuning of the 6 steel strings at the same time. In addition to the typical pickguard, the extensive guitar is equipped with numerous inlays of mother-of-pearl and a noble black high-gloss finish. Furthermore, the high-quality pickup system allows the use on stage. The scope of delivery includes a hardshell case.

Construction and woods

Since the top is made of solid Sitka spruce, the guitar produces clear midrange and subtle treble frequencies. The solid maple body, on the other hand, colors the sound with warm and rich bass frequencies, making the acoustic guitar excellent for vocal accompaniment. In addition, the flat Scalloped-X bracing ensures a fast response, so that the full sound potential can unfold even with light strokes. The mahogany neck is very accommodating to use thanks to its round profile. Thus, all 20 frets set into a rosewood fingerboard can be accessed comfortably. The characteristic Dove bridge is also made of rosewood.

Hardware and Design

To ensure clean intonation of the strings, the compensated bridge inlay and the 44.45 mm wide nut are made of bone. Gold-plated Grover Keystone tuners are set into the typical Gibson headstock, with the help of which the instrument can be easily tuned. Parallelogram inlays of mother-of-pearl are worked into the fretboard, which serve as orientation and are extremely harmoniously tuned to the mother-of-pearl inlays in the bridge. Another highlight is undoubtedly the extensive black pickguard in classic Dove format, which enriches the instrument in a very tasteful way. Rounding out the Gibson Elvis Dove is the black and white trussrod cover engraved with the style icon's name.

Electronics

Installed in the body for amplified use is an active L.R.Baggs VTC pickup system, which uses a piezo element to transmit the acoustic sound of the guitar directly to the amplifier. The tone and volume can be conveniently adjusted via a control hidden in the sound hole. The 9V block battery is stored in a nylon bag in the body of the instrument.
