Besides the meranti body with the obligatory Monkey Grip and the Lion's Claw under the locking tremolo, the electric guitar counts a fast "Wizard III" maple neck and the elegant Tree or Life Inlay among its features. In-house Ibanez Quantum pickup in HSH setup also promises articulate sounds for fluid soloing and virtuoso riffing.

The construction of the Steve Vai JEMJR Black combines first-class playing characteristics with the unmistakable appointments of the Steve Vai Signature models. In addition to the characteristic monkey grip, the meranti body features the "Lion's Claw" milling, which allows almost unlimited up-bends with the Tremolo. The wide Cutaways and flowing All Access Neck Joint of the sleek design also promise unobstructed access to the high registers of the bolt-on maple neck, which offers excellent playing characteristics for virtuoso solos with its flat "Wizard III" profile. Last but not least, an elegant Tree or Life inlay marks the positions between the 24 frets of the Jatoba fingerboard.

The electrical tone conversion of the Steve Vai guitar is handled by Ibanez Quantum pickups in the flexible HSH setup. Two powerful ceramic humbuckers on the neck and bridge and a single coil in the middle position, which is also equipped with ceramic magnets, together with the 5-way circuit, elicit a variety of tonal colours between glassy cleans and juicy distortion, whose fine articulation skilfully supports virtuoso playing techniques. Furthermore, general volume and tone controls are available for adjusting the guitar sound.

Thanks to the deep "Lion's Claw" milling under the Tremolo, up-bends can be pulled to unimaginable heights.
