Based on the ergonomic Soundgear design, the Ibanez SR2605E turns out to be a real noble bass with elaborate construction and noble woods. Accordingly, the mahogany body wears a top made of burl poplar (Poplar Burl), whose intense pattern is brought to life by the transparent blue finish. The absolute highlight of the five-string is undoubtedly the fifteen-piece neck, which combines particularly high stability with an elegant look through the combination of panga panga, maple padouk, amaranth and walnut with KTS titanium inlays. Furthermore, the Ibanez Premium SR2605E convinces with the typical Soundgear playing comfort, which lets every note go by itself.
The Ibanez Premium SR2605E-CBB Cerulean Blue Burst is equipped with two pickups from Nordstrand. As single coils on steroids, Nordstrand's Big Single Pickups deliver an aggressive yet transparent sound at the amplifier that precisely reproduces every note and pushes it into the pit of the stomach with harmonic force. The active Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band tone control is also available for further sound adjustment, whose semi-parametric mid-band allows precise tuning of the sound character. Thanks to the EQ bypass switch, the electric bass can also be played passively.
