Typical for a Soundgear bass, the Ibanez SR870 also focuses on unhindered playing comfort and a first-class sound with even sustain. Accordingly, the ergonomically curved body is made of mahogany with a three-part top of walnut and maple, while the screwed neck consists of five parts of jatoba and walnut. The slim "SR4" profile lies comfortably in the hand, so that every note on the Jatoba fingerboard plays itself.
