Based on JoeCo's award-winning BlackBox Recorder technology, the new Joeco BBR1MP Blackbox Recorder is a standalone version for live & multi-channel solutions, specifically designed to meet the needs of broadcast applications. This 24-channel recorder offers the usual BlackBox features such as 24 high-quality micro preamps, as well as operation at up to 24bit / 96kHz - all this in a small 1U chassis. The BBR1MP allows a variety of connection options, these include: Mic/Line selection per channel strip, balanced outputs, video sync, timecode and word clock inputs. Optionally, a MADI or DANTE interface can be installed, providing the user with an additional 24 channels of MADI or DANTE i/o. Microphones can be connected either through the D-Sub connector at the rear, or with the help of the optionally available 2U BreakoutBox, which offers a corresponding number of XLR connectors.
Audio material is recorded directly to an external USB2 drive in broadcast WAV format for immediate post-production processing. A stereo mixdown can be generated in parallel. Full iXML support is provided.
The Joeco BBR1MP can also be powered by 12V - unused channels and features can be turned off to extend battery life. The unit is fully controllable via JoeCoRemote for iPad - this includes easy control of the following channel strip settings: level, mic/line, phantom power, hi-pass filter, soft limiter and phase correction. Levels are displayed via high-resolution level meters, and the monitor mix can be adjusted via expandable channel strips (graphic fader, pan, solo, mute, etc.).
The compact dimensions of the BBR1MP, as well as the high-quality preamps and converters, make it a practical and elegant solution for a wide range of broadcasting applications - but also for live engineers the unit offers an excellent and above all portable multichannel solution.
