Korg NTS-1

Digital desktop-synth

The Korg "Nu:Tekt" NTS-1 is a compact, digital, monophonic synthesizer and has extensive editable features, which is delivered as a DIY kit. The monophonic synthesizer is based on Korg's Monotron series in design and ribbon controller, but breaks new ground. In addition to the classic waveforms sawtooth, triangle and rectangle, a digital oscillator also delivers the new VPM waveforms already known from the Minilogue xd and is "logue SDK" compatible, allowing other models to be loaded by the user. For sound processing, a resonant multimode filter with seven different types is used, which even has an open mode. A total of three LFOs and an envelope provide versatile modulations in the sound process. The new effects Chorus, Ensemble, Phaser, Flanger, Delay and Reverb are a great enhancement for the generated sounds. The built-in arpeggiator effortlessly produces inspiring melodies and bass lines. In addition to the audio inputs and outputs and MIDI-in, operation via USB is planned. Via the sync socket the Nu:Tekt can be synchronized with a Teenage Engineering Pocket Drumcomputer.

DIY - very simple!

This DIY-Kit (do it yourself) has be built before you can elicit the first notes from the instrument. No soldering is necessary: the side parts, base and control panel are simply plugged together and screwed together all around the board. Only the ribbon controller needs to be mounted separately. An assembly instruction and a screwdriver are included in the kit.
Experienced hobbyists can give the NTS-1 fancy side parts or an inclined stand made of wood or aluminum or accommodate several of these handy synths including power supply in an arched case.
