In a field that often shifts manufacturing to the Far East, traditional manufacturer Ludwig has made a conscious decision to produce its mid-range NeuSonic series sets at its home plant in North Carolina. Ambitious beginners, advanced players and professionals thus get a genuine Ludwig Set Made in USA. A real unique selling point.
With maple and cherry, two well-known tonewoods are used in the NeuSonic sets. Three layers of maple surround the three layers of cherry. A balanced sound with plenty of punchy treble and a fat bass range is the result. During the production of the shells, the robust wrap is already applied and treated like another layer of wood. This allows the silk-matte wrap to be glued over the entire surface and the edges to be set cleanly. The result is just 5mm thin hybrid shells with a typical warm Ludwig sound.
