Product information - MFB Module Nano Gnome

Monophonic synthetic module

MFB Modul Nanozwerg Pro is a Synth Voice module for modular synthesizers in Eurorack format. Despite its extremely compact dimensions, the module is a full-featured, monophonic analog synthesizer module with a VCO and suboscillator and noise generator as well as a 12 dB multimode filter with external audio input.

The analog VCO generates the four waveforms triangle, sawtooth, square and needle pulse. It can be switched over four octaves, as well as fine-tuned by about one octave. Together with the suboscillator, which has three octaves, the sound basis of the NANOZWERG PRO module is created here. As an alternative to the suboscillator, a noise generator for atonal sounds or an external audio signal can be used. VCO and suboscillator or external audio signal are mixed together in the mixer. Use the glider control to add portamento to the tones.

12dB multimode filter

The 12 dB state variable multimode filter has the modes low pass, band pass, high pass and notch. The resonance can be regulated to natural oscillation. The cutoff frequency can be modulated manually, with the ADSR envelope and the LFO simultaneously. In addition, the filter can be opened depending on pitch via Key Follow.

The LFO has four waveforms, including Sample & Hold and a one-shot function. Here the selected waveform runs through only one cycle after the gate pulse of an incoming note and can therefore be used as a simple envelope curve. The first three waveforms can be seamlessly faded into each other. In addition to the cutoff frequency, the LFO can modulate either the pitch or the pulse width of the square wave in the VCO.

ADSR 1&2

The ADSR-1 envelope can modulate the cutoff frequency of the filter with adjustable positive or negative excursion. With the ADSR-2 envelope you can control the VCA output volume.

Controllable via CV

Most parameters of the NANOZWERG PRO module can be modulated via CV. In addition, the envelopes and the LFO have output connectors. A switch socket is provided for the filter, which makes it possible to use an external source instead of the internal sound sources.

The NANOZWERG can be controlled via the MIDI input with a keyboard or from a DAW. In addition to the note commands, data from the pitch wheel (+/- 1 semitone) and midi control change are processed. Alterative to the Midi input, the module has a faster M-Bus connection.
