The Martin OM-21 Natural at a glance

With the OM-21 Natural, the almost 200-year-old traditional company Martin & Co. presents a fully solid acoustic guitar in a compact size, which convinces both with its extremely obliging playability and with its balanced sound. Responsible for perfect sound development are the perfectly matched materials and the clever construction. The rather simple beauty is rounded off and refined with an ageing toner of the top and a razor-thin high-gloss finish. Included in the package is a ply hardshell case with a green interior.

Woods and construction

Thanks to a Sitka spruce top, the instrument is rich in long-lasting overtones that give the impression of each note flowing into the next. Thus, the full-coverage basses of the body made of East Indian rosewood perfectly fit into the overall picture complementing it in the most harmonious way. The easy playability is also a testament to the manufacturer's years of know-how, as a combination of a Select Hardwood neck, a high-quality ebony fingerboard and a Modified Low Oval neck profile guarantees perfect access to all 20 frets. Meanwhile, a compensated bridge inlay and a finely notched bone nut ensure clean intonation.

Design and Hardware

Part of the timeless look is clearly the open nickel tuners, which allow easy tuning of the 6 steel strings. These are set into the characteristic headstock in the middle of which the venerable company logo is enthroned in the form of a script old-style overlay. A simple tortoise binding and a corresponding pickguard create a very tasteful transition between the individual components of the small 000-14 Fret body.
