As a true Pawn Shop relic of the late eighties, the Maybach Jazpole 63 Variotone 60S more than ready for the experimental sounds of grunge and noise Rock . Maybach's loving interpretation of this nerd among electric guitars, which only became famous late on, relies less on switches and knobs, but on the complete sound palette of two Amber Variotone 60S Humbucker in neck and bridge position. Last but not least, the 3-Tone Sunburst Aged finish gives a classic feeling and authentic traces of paint from years of waiting in the attic.
With the traditional body construction of the early sixties, the Jazpole remains true to its conspecifics and, with an open cutaway and contours for arm and belly, provides a surprisingly good playability in all registers of the 22-flush fingerboard Palisander . However, the Jazpole also improves some of the ancestors' teething troubles by providing a fixed Tune-o-Matic plus Stopbar instead of floating Trem for rattle-free and vocally stable performances.
The sound transformation of the jazz poles at the amplifier is done by two Amber Variotone 60S Humbucker of the German pickup Gurus Wolfgang dams. The two double winders not only Aged Nickel Cover deliver individually tight and pithy rock sounds, but are also tuned to each other in terms of output and resonance frequency and appear powerful and harmonious in the intermediate position. The control of the two pickups is managed classically via 3-way toggle as well as master volume and master tone.
