Based on a compact headless design with individual scale length for each of the seven strings, the Mayones Hydra Elite 7 impresses not only with a first-class wood selection, but also with extremely agile handling and a tight sound. The multiscale construction with scale lengths between 25.4" and 27" (645 mm and 686 mm) promises an optimal pull for each string even with drop tunings. Alongside the slim mahogany body, Mayones relies on an intensely figured burl poplar top, while the six-bolt neck is five-piece wenge and amaranth (Purpleheart) and carries an ebony fingerboard. The compact body design with wide Cutaways and the slim D-neck profile guarantee unhindered playability across all 24 stainless steel frets, with fluorescent side dots from Luminlay marking the layers.
While TKO by Bare Knuckle 7-string humbuckers elicit modern metal sounds from the guitar amp with tight precision, ABM Fine Tuner Bridges keep the guitar securely in the correct tuning.

The electric tone conversion of the headless guitar is done by two Mayones TKO by Bare Knuckle humbuckers in the 7-string version, which have been tuned by the British pickup forge to the distinctive characteristics of Mayones guitars. The TKO bridge humbucker with powerful ceramic magnets delivers a powerful and tight sound with excellent Tracking every note played even at high gain and low tunings, while the TKO neck pickup is a modern Alnico V humbucker with a particularly clear and open sound. To expand the sound repertoire of the seven-string Mayones Hydra and authentic single coil sounds, both pickups can be split with a pull of the volume knob. In addition, the electric guitar is equipped with a treble bleed circuit that prevents treble loss when reducing the volume with the volume knob.
The brass S-CLAMP headpiece provides a secure fit for the seven strings of the Hydra Elite VF 7.
