The Miditech Pianobox Pro from Miditech is a MIDI expander that provides 128 GM sounds, 64 piano, keyboard & vintage sounds from E-MU and 100 drum patterns. It can easily be connected to a master keyboard and played directly. There are eight function keys to switch between the individual sounds and patterns. The Miditech Pianobox Pro can also be used as a metronome with a freely selectable tempo. The Pianobox Pro can also be used as an accompaniment machine with 100 patterns via the guitar input.

Worked straight out of the box unlike many other MIDI product. It turned a fairly useless keyboard into a very useful tool in my studio. The range and quality of the sounds easily justifies the price. The added drum tracks are the icing on the cake they sound good too.
Purchased this to allow us to make use of our midi keyboard more effectively, and to be able to practice keyboard playing without having to use a DAW. Just hooked up the unit via midi and added a small practice amplifier and it worked right out of the box with no complications. Easy to use with a great range of quality sounds at a very reasonable price.
Does what is says on the tin (and more!) but could benefit from more detailed operating instructions, particularly firmware upgrade procedures
