Product information - Ortega RUHZ-CE-STAR

Electroacoustic Concert Ukulele with Cutaway and Reversed-Headstock

With the Ortega RUHZ-CE-STAR, the manufacturer Ortega presents a particularly eye-catching member of the Horizon Series. Besides the inverted headstock and the cutaway, the concert ukulele comes with a detailed star design and a noble high-gloss finish. In addition, the laminated construction produces a very warm sound that is excellent for vocal accompaniment. At the same time, the flat neck promises a comfortable grip in all 18 frets. The 4 nylon strings can be tuned easily and precisely with the help of the black die-cast tuners. The in-house pickup system is also equipped with a practical tuner for support. The scope of delivery includes a color-coordinated bag for the instrument.

Construction and woods

Since the body is made of laminated Agathis, the instrument develops a warm yet bright sound that travels quickly. The okoume neck is equipped with a Tecwood fingerboard, which gets an optimized access to the high frets because of the Cutaways.

Hardware and design

To make sure that the ukulele intonates cleanly on the whole scale length of 376 mm, the saddle and the 35 mm wide nut are perfectly matched. The exceptional headstock is equipped with translated tuners, so that the instrument is easy to tune. The fretboard features large star inlays that create a pleasant contrast to the black fretboard and tastefully match the custom finish. Another eye-catcher is the detailed soundhole rosette.

Electronics

To make the instrument suitable for stage use, the Ortega MagusUke active pickup system is built into the body. The output signal can be adjusted via a tone or volume pot depending on the type of amplifier. The system is powered by two button cell batteries.
