The DW PDP Snare Walnut / Maple / Walnut in 14" x 5.5" is a high-quality snare drum with an extra thick shell and many professional features, such as the DW MAG Throw Off and Remo heads. The drum shell is a hybrid of 16 layers of maple, which are enclosed on both sides by four layers of walnut. Maple produces a very warm sound and walnut makes the tone very deep and bassy. The combination of the two woods creates a well-balanced basic sound. The shell's thickness of 24 layers of wood contributes to a very dry and crisp punch.
As a subsidiary company of DW, the PDP Snare Drums have many features from the repertoire of that cult manufacturer. Tuning behaviour and playing feel make the PDP Snare Drums an absolute secret favorite among beginners as well as professional drummers worldwide. The Walnut / Maple / Walnut by PDP immediately stands out due to its noble appearance. A matt brown walnut veneer with chrome hardware makes the snare a real eye-catcher. But it also has a convincing sound. Steel hoops, True Pitch tension rods and original Remo heads ensure comfortable handling and tuning accuracy. A special highlight is the throw-off.
