With the Grand Audition MKII, Palmer presents a 24-channel switching system for loudspeakers. Convenient loudspeaker routing with variable level control for incorruptible comparisons in presentations and flexible multi-monitor and multi-room applications are some of the application areas of the GrandAudition MK2.
The system offers connections for 16 individual loudspeakers or eight pairs of loudspeakers and up to eight subwoofers on two height units in 19" format - all in the form of balanced XLR sockets with line level. Depending on the application, the outputs can be switched individually or as stereo pairs - via a convenient browser control or directly on the device. You can choose between exclusive switching or a free output combination, making GrandAudition MKII not only the ideal solution for loudspeaker presentation, but also a control center for trade show and laboratory use and for sound reinforcement of several rooms.
Source material is fed in via two balanced XLR inputs from a mixing console, CD player or DAW - with adjustable volume, of course. But that's not all: GrandAudition MKII has an integrated USB media player on which reference tracks can be presented constantly on demand in the data formats WAV, AIF, FLAC, MP3 and OGG. In the blink of an eye, the selection can be changed via USB sticks.
Browser-based device control via tablet or laptop offers pure ease of use. Use Ethernet- and WLAN-enabled devices for complete configuration and device control including channel labeling, media player and other practical functions.
The possible level adjustment per output and the lightning-fast, crisp switching enable incorruptible speaker comparisons that reliably guide your customers to the right speaker. On the other hand, routing applications can be implemented where different levels per output are required. It goes without saying that with Palmer you can rely on a fully analog signal path of the highest quality.
The impressive number of 16 plus 8 outputs can be tripled by cascading units if necessary, allowing you to manage even the largest routing scenarios for monitor speakers, such as presentation areas. You can also use the subwoofer outputs for connecting additional speakers without any technical compromises.
In addition to active loudspeakers, you can of course also integrate passive loudspeakers via corresponding power amplifiers. You can also use the signal distribution to multiple line outputs for other applications, for example by feeding up to 24 headphone amplifiers with one source signal - an invaluable added value in conference technology and at trade fairs. And finally, GrandAudition MKII should also prove itself in measurement labs.
In short: GrandAudition MK2 enables uncomplicated loudspeaker routing with professional sound neutrality, thanks to straightforward functionality and high ease of use.
