Peavey's Triple XXX II Head is a versatile tube amplifier with an extremely flexible sound. 3 separate channels provide everything the modern shredder heart desires, from clear and pedal-friendly cleans and juicy overdrive sounds to burning high gain leads, while the 120-watt power amplifier provides sufficient power reserves for rehearsals, jams and larger performances. Thanks to some useful features for stage and studio, such as an adjustable noise gate for the gain channels, a line out with its own level control and a serial effect loop, Peavey's Triple XXX II Head is ideally equipped for almost any application.
The Peavey Triple XXX II's clean channel features clear sound with almost endless headroom at all volume levels. Accordingly, it offers the ideal basis for a wide variety of pedalboard setups. The two gain channels Rhythm & Lead, on the other hand, deliver the full distortion of four 12AX7 tubes and are controlled by active equalizer controls with up to 12db boost. The mid-boost voicing of both channels lets even extreme scooped sounds cut through the band mix, while two separate fat switches provide the extra portion of gravitational center pressure if required.
As a true Peavey amplifier, the Triple XXX II Head uses the patented resonance and presence circuit in the master section. This influences the damping factor of the output stage in the very high and low frequency range and offers additional clarity in the treble and additional thrust in the low-end range. In addition, the two gain channels have been equipped with an adjustable and easy-to-reach noise gate to eliminate annoying high gain noise between preamplifier and output stage.
The Peavey Triple XXX II's serial effect loop with adjustable send and return levels and a line out output with its own volume control prove that it can play to its full potential not only on stage but also in the studio for recording purposes. Even the sound character of the Poweramp is quickly changed thanks to the extremely flexible circuitry, since the output stage of the Triple XXX II is designed for both EL34 and 6L6GS tubes.
