Product information - Roland EC-10M ELCajon Mic Processor

Extend the sound spectrum of your cajon in an easy way!

Behind the somewhat cryptic term EC-10M ELCajon Mic Processor you will find a new add-on for players of acoustic cajons. The Mic Processor consists of a sound module and a microphone, which not only captures and amplifies the acoustic sound of the cajon, but also converts the signals simultaneously into trigger signals. The microphone is able to differentiate between edge and surface sounds and reliably split them into the desired signal. It has never been easier to expand your acoustic sounds with additional electronic sounds.

But that's not all: the sounds of the EC-10M Mic Processor can also be controlled via the integrated A / B footpads or by optional trigger pedals. A looper also allows you to create your own percussion loops so you can play your cajon almost like a complete drum set.

Easy assembly and handling

The handling of the EC-10M Mic Processor is very simple. The small condenser microphone is simply attached to the sound hole of the cajon with a clip-on system and connected to the module. Now you only have to select one of the 16 setups and you can start. The microphone does not only amplify the natural sound of the cajon. Rather, the beats are simultaneously converted into trigger signals, which then elicit the assigned sounds from the Mic Processor.

Differentiation of surface and edge

Particularly fascinating: The EC-10M can distinguish the received signals and thus differentiate between edge and surface. The sound repertoire of the EC-10M ELCajon Mic Processor ranges from tambourins, surds via splashes to the legendary TR-808 snare and cajon sounds with ambience.

The Mic Processor can also be operated with separately available pedals.

Light weight and compact dimensions

The EC-10M Mic Processor has two A / B footswitches that can be used to get two additional sounds. As an alternative to the use of the switches, (optional) pedals can also be integrated, e.g. the Roland Trigger Pedals KT-10, KT-9 or KD-7. Thanks to the low weight of just 500 grams and its compact dimensions, the EC-10M can be used anywhere, either with the included power supply unit or with batteries. For the refinement of the sound, a compressor can be added to the acoustic sound. Threshold can be used to regulate the level between acoustic and electric sounds.

Loop function for recording

Another highlight of the ELCajon EC-10M Mic Processor is the Looper. This function allows you to record phrases that you are playing, with the Mic Processor ensuring that both the acoustic sounds and the electronic sounds are being recorded. If you change the selected setup, the current beat will be played with the new sounds, which means there is no limit to the creativity of the player.
