The Roland FP-90 is a portable piano with premium characteristics to enhance your creativity wherever you are. The FP-90 is equipped with authentic grand piano touch from the PHA-50 (Progressive Hammer Action with Escapement) keyboard, combining both wood and moulded materials for a comfortable playing experience and increased durability.
Using the latest SuperNATURAL Piano Modeling technology, this piano offers a richer, more detailed sound than if conventional sampling had been used. The sound can be heard through four speakers that deliver a powerful reproduction, ideal for small live shows. You can even connect your smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth and play along with your favourite songs, and even enhance performances with rhythm accompaniments from the Piano Partner 2 app.
You can move beyond just piano sounds with the FP-90, including strings, organ and synths, with the ability to save your favourite setups in 30 user registrations. Use the layers, splits and extra options to create truly unique sounds. If you want to record performances, you can do so via USB memory in either WAV or MP3 format. This version of the FP-90 comes in black.
Everything seems to work well, but some stray noises in different instrument settings on some keys. If you are new to this sort of instrument read the instructions on how to switch on/off (seriously!). According to the manual you need to have the volume turned down before switch-off to avoid potential damage. Pianos/organs/synths etc sound great. Keys have really good action. Slightly bad fit at the back on the right between metal speaker plate and the end board. But overall, this seems to be a fantastic instrument - either through its speakers or headphones. Layout and sub-menus very intuitive and easy to find your way around. Bluetooth works great first time - which is not the case for a lot of electronic instruments. It does mimic a grand piano very well.
