New Star Quick Lock Tom Mount
Even Tama's Starclassic Series can get excited about a makeover in 2015. The Starclassic Shell Sets will also receive the Star Quick Lock Tom mounting system from the high-end Star Series. This gives the already unmatched sound of the famous Starclassic Series even more melodious nuances and an improved setup.
Shell Sound Characteristics and Construction
With the use of Bubinga wood for the interior of the Birch shells Tama has opened a new chapter for the Starclassic Series. 4 layers of Birch for the Toms and 5 layers for the Bass Drums are combined with three layers of Bubinga wood. The mix of Bubinga and Birch creates a new sound with the hard attack of Birch wood and the beautiful low harmonies of Bubinga. The shells are equipped with premium Evans heads. The hoops are die-cast from a solid piece of Zinc, whereby the balanced application of pressure on the head and the improved contact to the tension rods ensures for ideal and reliable tuning.
High-End Tama Features
The Tama Starclassic Performer B/B can impress with numerous practical features. The Star-Cast Mounting System is made from aluminium and thereby reduce the weight even further, promises the best possible resonating characteristics and a secure hold as well as flexible adjustment possibilities. The included Single Tom Attachments allow the flat Toms to be simply attached to a cymbal stand arm. The Bass Drum of the Performer B/B has experienced a number of improvements. The Bass Drum Spur Brackets were additionally equipped with a memory function for a quicker setup and the rubber gasket lining, which prevents direct contact between the metal and the shell, allow the Bubinga-Birch hybrid shells to resonate unrestricted. Improved resonating characteristics are provided by the Floor Tom legs of the Performer Series through the air-cushioned rubber feet, reducing the dampening of the resonance and improving the play feeling.
