The Tama SC Performer 3-Piece Acoustic Drum Kit Charcoal Onyx is a 3-piece acoustic drum kit featuring birch/bubinga shell material, made with 4 layers of birch + 3 inner layers of bubinga, and 6mm shell thickness, with chrome shell hardware, and a charcoal onyx finish. Using bubinga wood on the inside of the Birch shell TAMA has opened a new chapter in the Starclassic series. To this end, four layers of birch on toms and five are on the bass drum are combined with three ply bubinga wood. The mixture of Bubinga and Birch has created a new sound that combines the hard attack of birch wood and the beautiful deep harmonies of Bubinga. These drums are fitted with top of the range Evans heads. The die-cast hoops are moulded from a piece of zinc.
The Tama Starclassic Performer B / B boasts many useful features. Thanks to the Star Cast Mounting System, which relies on linear structures, the toms can now be placed into better positions. In addition, the mounting of the hardware is adapted optically and the use of aluminium makes a multiple resonance easy to come by and very efficient. Supplied Single Tom attachments allow shallow toms to be fixed easily with cymbals. The bass drum of the Performer B / B has undergone some improvements. For a better response behaviour, the Floor tom of the Performer Series features air holes in the rubber feet, reducing the loss of sound and improving the feel.
