Tascam VL-S5 Active Monitor (Pair)
creates high resolution stereo monitoring for anything from home to professional studios. The natural response delivered by the Kevlar 5.25" Woofer and 1" Silk-Dome Tweeter is immediately noticeable. Each Driver is powered by a separate Amplifier, with a crossover frequency of 3.2kHz. The VL-S5 delivers a 60Hz-22KhZ even frequency reproduction.
When producing your music it is crucial to hear your audio tracks as purely as they were recorded. Audio transients are quickly responded to, and the high-strength Kevlar Cone combined with the Silk Tweeter makes for a faithful reproduction of your tracks. The Kevlar Cone reproduces the full frequency spectrum without any distortion. If softer materials were used, they can bend and deform during playback which gives you an inaccurate idea of your mix. The Tweeter gives you accurate playback without any harsh tones.
The VL-S5 is bi-amplified, meaning each component is driven by its own separate Amplifier. This makes for the cleanest possible playback, whilst eliminating any possible interaction between other electrical components. The 3.2kHz crossover frequency was chosen after a long stream of testing, ensuring that a seamless response is achieved. This is higher than most conventional Monitors, and this has been achieved because of the Kevlar Driver, making for a truer reproduction of hip-hop, EDM, Acoustic, Rock and many other genres.
A balanced XLR/TRS Combo Input reduces noise when interfacing audio components. Noise can come from many other electrical sources in the chain and can get mixed with signals during transmission between components on a cable. A balanced Connection can reduce and even eliminate this noise.
The VL-S5 is shielded, preventing magnetic interference from affecting sensitive components. With magnetic shielding, the VL-S5 can be setup near devices such as computer displays and hard drives without worry.
