Very balanced sound
The Taylor 414ce LTD produces a very balanced sound thanks to its mid-sized construction and perfectly matched tonewoods. This spreads quickly and over a wide area even with light touches, which is not least due to the V-shaped bracing of the top and the razor-thin high-gloss finish. furthermore, the flat neck in combination with the generous cutaway guarantees optimized access to all 20 frets. At the same time, perfectly dressed hardware ensures clean intonation over the entire 648 mm scale length. In-house tuners are inserted into the characteristic headstock, allowing precise tuning of the 6 steel strings. With the help of the built-in pickup system, the acoustic sound can also be amplified without any problems, so that the guitar is ready for any occasion. Visually, the instrument is rounded off by filigree inlay work, which creates a decidedly harmonious overall appearance. The scope of delivery includes a sturdy Taylor Deluxe hardshell case.

Structure and woods
In order for the guitar to produce pleasantly warm midrange frequencies, the top is made of sinker redwood. The rosewood body also adds crisp bass frequencies to the sound, allowing the instrument to easily assert itself in both strumming and Pickings. In addition, the V-Class bracing ensures a two-dimensional vibration behavior of the top, which results in each note decaying very long-lasting in the overtones. Meanwhile, a flat mahogany neck with an ebony fingerboard ensures comfortable playability, which can be operated very obligingly up to the highest frets.

Hardware and design
The compensated saddle made of Micarta and the 44,45 mm wide nut made of Black Graphite ensure a clean sound development of the complete tonal range. In addition, the Grand-Auditorium is equipped with nickel-plated tuners, with which the strings can be tuned very easily. The rosewood overlay of the headstock is decorated with a fine Imperial inlay that matches the Inlays of the fingerboard. A large tortoise pickguard is adjacent to the soundhole, which is adorned with a three-ring soundhole ros ette. The body is surrounded with a contrasting white binding.
Electronics
Taylor 's proprietary Expression System 2 takes sound directly from each pair of strings via threepiezo elements in the bridge. This allows the natural sound of the instrument to be passed directly to the amplifier, resulting in no loss of tone. The side-premo has three controls with which the treble, as well as the bass frequencies and the volume can be individually adjusted. Right next to the jack is the battery compartment of the 9V block battery that powers the active system.

Ebony & Koa: Sustainability at Taylor Guitars
Uncontrolled clearing of forests and overexploitation lead to massively endangered wood species, which can no longer regenerate due to the high pace of mining. These include ebony and koa in particular, whose dwindling stocks and the resulting ecological problems have prompted a rethink at Taylor Guitars.
Sustainable ebony cultivation in Cameroon
Because ebony 's hard, supple texture makes it particularly finger-friendly, it has long been the preferred choice for making fingerboards. Its attractive appearance is also extremely popular for bridges, headstock rests, bridge Pins and Bindings. However, high demand and a thriving black market outstripped stocks, landing Ebony on the Red List of Endangered Species in 1994. Moreover, only the deep black heartwood, which makes up only a fraction of the tree, was used, resulting in a disproportionately large amount of waste in production. In order to protect the forests, Taylor has thus been working since 2011 with the Crelicam Wood Mill in Yaoundé in Cameroon to promote controlled consumption by processing waste products.

Siglo Tonewoods Project
Koa acacia populations have also suffered severe losses over the last 20 years. Unsustainable forestry as well as overexploitation led to a decline that can only be stopped by proactive action and reforestation. Therefore, Taylor Guitars together with Pacific Rim Tonewoods founded the Siglo Tonewoods project, which aims to rebuild the Hawaiian virgin forest. This is a large cultivation area for koa acacia and other species, which allows the use of koa wood on a controlled scale.
