The models of the Koa series come including Taylor case

In addition to a stunning appearance, the Taylor Koa series convinces with a powerful and warm sound. Since the Taylor K22ce has a compact Grand Concert body, the mid-frequency ranges come through clearly, making the instrument perfect for expressive Pickings. In addition, the all-solid tonewoods and the novel V-Class bracing ensure an almost attack and an exceptionally long sustain. At the same time, the flat neck in combination with the generous cutaway guarantees optimal access to all 20 frets. The 6 steel strings are set pleasantly flat at the factory and intonate cleanly and precisely over the entire 648 mm scale length thanks to the precisely matched Hardware. Meanwhile, easy tuning is ensured by gold-plated die-cast tuners that perfectly emphasize the guitar's value. Moreover, the acoustic guitar is decorated with numerous inlays made of wood, which create a very harmonious overall appearance. Conveniently, the instrument incorporates the in-house Taylor Expression System 2, which perfectly captures the acoustic sound and passes it on to the amplifier unaltered. The scope of delivery includes a sturdy case.

Selected tonewoods from the finest Hawaiian koa provide an individual appearance

Structure and woods

Since the entire body is made of solid Koa , the Grand-Concert produces a sound that is both rich in the middle and warm at the same time. The Hawaiian tonewood is known for revealing its full tonal potential only after prolonged playing, so a slight change is noticeable every time you pick up the guitar. When the wood is ready, the warm midrange frequencies clearly assert themselves, while the treble unfolds in a restrained manner. The top is equipped with a V-shaped bracing so that the tones spread out completely even with a light touch, which also ensures a long decay in the overtones. The mahogany neck is equipped with an ebony fingerboard, which is easy to reach in all positions thanks to the generous cutaway.

Hardware and design

The compensated Micarta bridge inlay is perfectly matched to the 44.45 mm wide Black Graphite saddle to ensure a clean sound throughout the entire range. For string tuning, gold-plated Gotoh tuners are set into the distinctive headstock, with a large maple inlay positioned between them, contrasting nicely with the ebony overlay. Matching the headstock, the fingerboard is also decorated with a large-scale Spring Vine inlay made of maple. The top is surrounded with contrasting maple bindings, which are very finely crafted just like the single ring soundhole rosette. The appearance is rounded off by a gossamer-thin high-gloss finish that gives the viewer a deep look at the multi-faceted grain.

Electronics

The guitar features Taylor 's proprietary Expression System 2, which uses three piezo elements in the bridge to directly pick up the acoustic sound of each pair of strings. The treble, as well as the bass frequencies and the volume of the output signal can be individually adjusted via the discreet side preamp. The active pickup system is powered by a 9V block battery, which is stowed in a battery compartment next to directly next to the jack.
