Product information - Taylor K26ce

Acoustic acoustic western guitar, solid, koa top, koa body, V-Class Bracing, ES-2 pickup system, case included.

With the Taylor K26ce acoustic guitar made from solid Hawaiian Koa, the Californian manufacturer is reforming the versatile Grand Symphony construction. The fully solid acoustic guitar comes with a strikingly grained Koa body, which produces a very warm and powerful sound and creates a very broad sound. A well-formed mahogany neck with an ebony fretboard gives the Taylor K26ce excellent playing comfort, which is maintained up to the highest frets thanks to the 632 mm scale length, the 44.45 mm wide saddle and the cleverly designed cutaways. In addition, a newly developed sound hole is integrated into the so-called "soundport" cutaway, which gives the sound a three-dimensional touch. Adapted to the exciting grain of the Koa wood, an elaborate inlay is worked into the fretboard, which, in combination with the golden Gotoh 510 tuners, gives the guitar a breathtaking overall picture. The Taylor K26ce guitar comes in a dimensionally stable Taylor Deluxe case.

Hawaiian Koa

Thanks to extensive reforestation programs, the manufacturer is able to use rare woods in series production for the construction of his guitars. For the K26ce acoustic guitar, high-quality Hawaiian Koa is used for the entire body, which in combination with the large Grand Symphony body gives the instrument a unique warmth. The bass frequencies are especially defined and complement the delicate treble frequencies, so that the guitar as a whole reproduces a beautiful and balanced sound. From an aesthetic point of view the wood with its exciting grain is a very special feast for the eyes. Coarse lines blur in the flamed structure  are gently accentuated with a light burst* finish. The top of the Taylor K26ce is framed with a discreet maple binding, which in fine interplay with the soundhole rosette and the ebony bridge rounds off the guitar perfectly.

Soundport Cutaway

The redesigned sound port cutaway is used for better access to the high frets, but also to influence the sound. The additional sound hole, which is integrated into the cutaway, is decisive here. With the sound port cutaway the sound not only radiates forward through the large sound hole in the top, but also to the left, giving the sound image an extraordinary transparency. Due to the dark ebony wood used for the construction of the cutaway, the sound hole is not noticeable at first sight and integrates discreetly into the overall sound of the Taylor K26ce.

Hardware and an easily playable neck

The playing comfort also plays a very important role in the overall concept. The easily playable mahogany neck with an ebony fingerboard flatters the player especially because of its precise profile and creates an incomparable playing experience. In contrast to the dark ebony fretboard is an elaborate inlay that extends over almost all frets. Matching the inlay, a chic floral ornament of mother-of-pearl is enthroned on the headstock, placed between the high-quality Gotoh 510 tuners, which with their 1:21 transmission ratio are hard to beat in precision. The guitar also features the proven Taylor Expression System 2, which enhances the acoustic sound of the guitar in a very natural way.
