The Technics - SL-1210MK7 is a professional, direct-drive DJ turntable that offers the same feel, reliability and durability as its predecessors. At the same time it is optimized with an iron coreless direct drive motor for stable rotation and a powerful drive torque as well as other sound enhancing technologies. New DJ functions are also available, such as reverse play for maximum creativity and the extended pitch range from ±8% to ±16%.
The tonearm is statically balanced and highly sensitive, allowing high-precision tracking of the record signal. When it comes to vibration damping, the Technics - SL-1210MK7 has a two-layer turntable structure, a highly stable housing and effective damping feet. Apart from that, the DJ turntable is equipped with a durable and brighter LED needle illumination. Further very practical features are the detachable power and signal cables for a higher flexibility and the adjustment of the start-/brake torque.
In Puncto Style, the Technics - SL-1210MK7 comes with a matt black housing including black buttons and a black S-shaped tonearm, providing a consistent black design in an attractive, refined look. With all these features the Technics - SL-1210MK7 wants to set a new standard for DJ turntables.
With a directly driven turntable, the motor is directly connected to the turntable. The so-called detent torque could cause small irregularities in the rotation. For this reason, a new direct drive motor has been designed for the Technics - SL-1210MK7, which operates with an iron coreless stator and thus completely eliminates the source of the detent torque. This results in even rotation and a powerful drive torque to ensure precise and detailed sound quality on all records.
The Technics - SL-1210MK7 features a statically balanced S-shaped tonearm that captures the music information contained in the record groove. The tonearm tube is made of lightweight, high-strength aluminum, with the bearing section of the gimbal suspension containing a milled housing and high-precision bearing elements. This guarantees an excellent tracking process with a minimum of unwanted needle movements even under harsh playing conditions such as scratching.
The die-cast aluminium platter of the SL-1210MK7 has a two-layer structure. The entire underside of the platter is coated with vibration-absorbing rubber, which eliminates unwanted resonances and provides high stability. This protects the record from harmful vibrations and the result is a genuine, authentic sound.
The DJ turntable has an extremely robust and extremely low-vibration housing. The combination of the aluminium injection-moulded frame and the ABS plastic construction reinforced with glass fibres offers very high strength and vibration damping, thus ensuring precise and dynamic sound reproduction.
The feet of the SL-1210MK7 provide ideal damping thanks to the spring-rubber construction. In this way an extremely good noise immunity is achieved, which is especially welcome for scratch DJs.
The Technics - SL-1210MK7 offers besides the two conventional rotation speeds of 33-1/3 and 45 rpm also the possibility to activate 78 rpm via the main on/off switch. In addition, the pitch range can be extended from ±8% to ±16%, providing improved tracking performance and accuracy for perfect beat matching thanks to fully digital control.
The needle illumination of the SL-1210MK7 features a new push mechanism and a brighter, longer-lasting LED. The illumination range has also been optimized to make the needle easier to see in very dark environments.

Previously had the sl1210 mk 2 and could not fault them at all... so I was very intrigued to find out if these lived up to its predecessor..
And not dissapointed one bit, absolute quality and lovely to use..
Only difference I noticed which is small is that the pop up light isn’t as sturdy as it’s original, but I’m guessing this style is easier to change..love them..
This new Technics turntable is a pleasure for (almost) all senses. It has a beautiful design to look at and to feel, the sound is superb, you can almost smell and taste the music:) I recommend it for both professional and home use.
But there Is an issue with different sized platter dots. It’s minor thing, and overall quality is great. Musicstore, you are wonderful, thanks a lot!
