With the Yamaha Revstar Standard RSS20 Sunset Burst, the Japanese company presents the latest Generation of the popular Double Cut electric guitar in Café Racer style. Inspired by sporty tuned motorcycles, the Revstar Standard RSS20 comes in a beautiful Modern Retro design, which is complemented by contemporary appointments such as stainless steel frets and Alnico V humbuckers with flexible tone options. Construction-wise, Yamaha also relies on a mahogany body with strategically placed resonance chambers and maple top, as well as a graphite-reinforced mahogany neck. Traditional Hardware in the form of a Tune-O-Matic bridge with Stopbar tailpiece and precise die-cast tuners completes the Revstar Standard RSS20 Sunset Burst electric guitar from Yamaha.
Inspired by café racers, the Yamaha Revstar Standard RSS20 Sunset Burst impresses with sporty looks, first-class playing characteristics and flexible sounds.
Besides the mahogany body with resonance chambers, the Revstar Standard has a glued mahogany neck with satin finish.
Mahogany guitar with innovative construction
In the construction of the Revstar Standard RSS20 guitar, Yamaha combines the traditional set-neck design with a number of innovative details that promise a lively sound character. Accordingly, the mahogany body not only features a maple top, but also carefully placed sound chambers to maximize resonance development and powerful tone. The glued, three-piece mahogany neck is also reinforced by inlaid carbon rods and offers premium playing characteristics with its pleasantly powerful C-profile and satin-finished neck back. In the rosewood fingerboard, almost wear-resistant stainless steel frets in jumbo format also create the best conditions for buttery-smooth bendings that glide as if on rails.
Yamaha VH5 humbuckers with Alnico V magnets and the versatile 5-way circuit with focus switch promises versatile guitar sounds.
Alnico V humbucker with Focus Switch
As pickup for the Revstar Standard RSS20 electric guitar Yamaha chooses two VH5 humbuckers. The pickups equipped with Alnico V magnets convince with a powerful sound that elicits full-bodied cleans and juicy Overdrive for crisp licks or powerful riffing from the guitar amplifier. The pickups are controlled via a flexible 5-way circuit, which calls up the pickups in different combinations and thus provides multifaceted timbres. In addition, Yamaha equips the Revstar Standard RSS20 Sunset Burst with the innovative Focus Switch, and via the Push / Pull switch in the tone control to create a passive "boost" with the sharp sound character of hot overwound pickups.
In addition to the Revstar Hanko stamp, the RSS20 headstock features die-cast tuners with vintage-style wings.
Traditional hardware equipment
Last but not least, Yamaha completes the equipment of the Revstar Standard RSS20 Sunset Burst with high-quality Hardware in classic style, which easily meets professional demands. From the Stopbar tailpiece, the strings are guided over a Tune-O-Matic bridge, which guarantees optimal intonation and string action thanks to the six string saddle with generous adjustment travel. On the distinctive Revstar headstock, Die-Cast tun ers with elegant vintage-style plastic wings also ensure precise tuning with high stability.
