Yamaha Digital Saxophone YDS-120

Yamaha YDS-120 at a glance:

Yamaha's YDS-120 digital saxophone offers a very comfortable symbiosis of two worlds.

The fingering corresponds to that of a real saxophone (High-F#, Front-F, LowA). Due to the simplified design, the YDS-120 moves haptically between an alto and a tenor saxophone. The blowing technique is converted to digital sound production with a recorder mouthpiece. Combined with the digital advantages offered by a modern wind transducer with the latest MIDI electronics and AWM sampling technology, this instrument is ideal for those who don't want to give up their saxophone playing while keeping an eye on volume and creative potential. Here, just like a real saxophone, the sound is modulated by the blowing strength as usual, giving innovative access to the 73 different sounds that are preloaded here. 56 of these are saxophone sounds, providing authentic saxophone sounds from soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones thanks to current sampling technology.

Easy handling

The volume of the YDS-120 can be adjusted in 15 steps, which has the advantage for you that you can play normally without having to laboriously regulate the level by blowing on it accordingly. The free YDS controller app expands the possibilities of sound generation, including instrument settings and sound editing. You can use the app to intuitively and visually make detailed settings that are not possible on the instrument itself. To use the app, download it and connect your smartphone to the YDS-120.

Ideal for practising and discovering new worlds of sound.

Whether for quiet practice at home in the evening or for exploring new possibilities, with the YDS-120 Digital Saxophone the instrumentalist has access to tens of thousands of sounds from all MIDI-capable synthesizers and keyboards. To do this, the instrument is connected via USB to the computer along with the music software and can play the sounds contained there. The audio output allows the audio signal to be transmitted beyond the built-in speaker to a more extensive amplifier system or mixing console. The YDS-120 fuses digital and acoustic technologies to create a completely new, unique instrument!
